Who we are

Humble origins. Equal roots.

At Equal Roots, we believe that no matter who you are or where you come from, we share common ground. Our passion for fresh coffee and social equity grows from that belief.

We are a farmer-owned coffee company with family roots in Lempira, Honduras. We bring generations of farming knowledge to coffee that is single origin, carefully protected, and roasted to order.

From our roots in farming to your daily cup.

Our story starts at the farm

Rooted in Tradition

Our own family coffee farm in Honduras is part of who we are. Alongside it, we source from other farms as harvests and seasons change.

Four generations of farming knowledge guide how we select, hand-sort, protect, and roast our coffee. Single origin keeps the story of each place—and the people behind it—at the center.

At the heart of every cup

Meet our farmers. Discover their stories.

A farmer, a family, a place. Our own farming roots shape how we select coffee and share the stories behind it. Current offerings change with the harvest; each product page identifies the coffee available now.

Papua New Guinea

Coffee, carried by community

Our farmer stories have included Kosep and the smallholder tradition of Papua New Guinea. The care of farming families, the terrain, and the work of moving a harvest are part of the coffee's story.

Our current Simbai coffee comes from highland farming families who deliver their harvests by foot to rural airstrips. Follow the current product for its origin and tasting notes.

Generations in the highlands

Smallholder farmers in the Guatemalan highlands bring generations of knowledge to growing and preparing coffee. The region's elevations and growing conditions help shape the character in the cup.

Keeping this coffee single origin gives that place its own voice. Explore the current lot for its processing method, roast choices, and flavor profile.

Equal roots. Shared possibilities.

Rooted in Equity

We believe that no matter who you are or where you come from, we share common ground. That belief shapes how we work with farming communities and the opportunities we want coffee to create.

Supporting small family farms, women-led cooperatives, and community investment is part of our purpose. In 2026, we helped provide backpacks, books, and school supplies for more than 90 children in our Honduran farming community.

Rooted in Creativity

A story on every bag.

Each Equal Roots label is inspired by hand-painted artwork and the culture of the place where that coffee is grown. The bag gives that story a place in your daily ritual.

Behind it is the art and science of selecting, protecting, and roasting the coffee inside. Creative expression and careful craft, together.
